Grudge, needle, point to prove! Job well done!
After the unsavoury comments and rather unprofessional attitudes and comments by the Altrincham manager when the Stags visited Moss Road in the league a few weeks earlier there was indeed a feelig that as well as being the FA Cup that this game really meant something and there was a point to prove.
Thankfully this was done with consumate ease and total professionalism as the Stags let their football do the talking and swepth the Alty aside with ease.
Two goals from Rob Duffy, both opportunist and strikers goals, but in genral Duffy's performance was spot on with a lot of hard work as well as the goals, maybe something the fans sometimes acuse him of ducking out of at times, but certainly a very good performance.
kyle Perry scored one of the Stags three goals and Ryan Williams pushed, teased, dribbled and kept on tourmenting the Alty defenders all game to earn the sponsors man of the match.
The Alty lost some composure throughout the game and finished off with ten for a poorly timed tackle on Gary Mills.
The main things was that the win was secured, the cup run has a start and maybe a few scores were settled by letting the football do the talking.
Next it's on to Forest Green away in the first round propper with a home game agiinst Histon on the agenda first this saturday, let's hope the crowd turn out again and that there is plenty of vocal support for the boys, the Mill needs to rock to give the players that extra twelth man and keep the push for promotion going.
Yellows, Yellows, Yellows!
